A quote says that “Corruption is like a ball of snow, once it is set a rolling it must increase” and this is entirely correct. Corruption means adopting unfair means for achieving personal interest. Corruption is active in each and every part and country of the world. Corruption cannot be stopped or reduced in any way. It can only be finished if it is inside a man’s heart to stop it. At present, it has become a national curse in Bangladesh. The causes of corruption in Bangladesh are many. We know that Bangladesh is a poor developing country. Most of the people of Bangladesh are poor by born. Normally, they may have excessive greed for money or wealth. To gain much wealth they often take many illegal ways. Thus they involve in corruption. Moreover, high ambition, greed for money and power, avoidance of religious restriction etc are the responsible to corruption. There is no space of our daily life where there is no corruption. Police, Businessmen, lawyers, service holders, social and national leaders, doctors, engineers and other institutions are badly engaged in corruption. There are huge bad effects of corruption. It hinders our national and international development. We lag behind due to it. Strict Laws are needed for stopping this.
